Went out for the first hunt representing Team SoCal Guided Hunts and downed a dog...at least I'm pretty sure I downed it. Made a good shot at 227 yards, heard the thwack and everything, center mass. Dog took off into thick brush and never found it. So, unfortunately no pics, no proof, but a...

I carry a knife on me at all times, where legal of course, and that pit would've gone home in pieces. Sorry about your dog dude.

    Coyotes- newbie question

I actually met a guy once, who was rather new to the hunting thing and shot a coyote...and then ate it. He said it was terrible but still managed to clean his plate. GROSS!

I used Thunderheads in the past and loved them. Plus the blades were replaceable so you didn't have to trash the whole thing if you missed.

    Anyone use Savage 11THXP 22-250?

I'm a fan of the Savage line of rifles, and have killed a lot of stuff with my Savage 111. I'm not familiar with that particular model but that's an excellent caliber for coyotes and bobcats. Screamin' fast and flat.

    Interested in predator calling

All depends on what you want to spend and much patience you have. Mouth calls will cost you anywhere from $10-50 and they work, but it takes some practice and trial and error. They work really well in the hands of those that know what they're doing. E-callers are more user friendly, but you will...

    What camo do you use?

I've owned the same pair of Cabelas bib overalls since 2008. They cost me $39.99 because they were a close out. Are they the best out there? Not by a long shot. But they only cost me $40 so I don't expect them to render me invisible to game. With that said, I'm sure the Sitka stuff is "da bomb"...

    3 by or eye guard?

Eye guard. I have a buck that the eye guards stuck straight out forward, more like brow tines but it didn't make it an elk. That's a forky with a wang chung eye guard.
