Yes. You can only have one premium tag so next year its either A-22, G-13, or D-16. Personally I don't think A-22 or D-16 will sell out next year since I think most people got an A-22 and D-16 or two D-16 tags.
This is how lucky I got this year. I realized this while at work and sent out...
With A-22 and D-16 going to be draws next year I was pretty sure Saturday was going to be my last rifle hunt in California. My plan for this weekend was to rifle hunt Saturday and archery hunt to finish up my deer hunting season on Sunday. My passion is archery hunting so my future plan is to...
Sorry man! That really sucks.
For that very reason I switched from mechanicals a few years back. I know they work great WHEN they work. I like that fixed blades always work.
I love my Cabela/ Meindl Alaska's. They are a bit over kill for local hunting unless you are in steep terrain or hauling a heavy pack. I've put countless hard miles on them and they are yet to break down or give me blisters.
Very good advice. On top of good binos, use them on a tripod. It saves your arms and make seeing deer a lot easier. I sit and look up to a mile or more in some spots.
That sucks. Its the risk we take when we leave hundreds of dollars in the field like that. I hate thieves more then pretty much anything!
On a side note, when I was carrying my stand and ladder in I had a forest cop stop me and told me that they don't want stands left out and if they find them...
I'll play. This was from last Saturday. I had 12 deer walk under me. All were does, fawns, and one spike. These two fawns stayed 9 yards under me fighting for a few minutes.
You will have to carry an 8' ladder and a hacksaw for the lock or a chainsaw to cut the tree down to steal my cams. I lost one a few years ago and from then on I have gone pretty extreme not to lose another. Plus I try to only hunt where no one else will go unless they get lost.
wear your fall protection
As a right handed shooter, I like to point my stand so I have to look to my left to see where I think the deer will walk. You wont be able to shoot from a seated position if your stand is pointed straight.
I like to have my harness and fail strap tight when i am...
Let me be the first to welcome you Sean!! Don't worry. Everyone is nice over here... sometimes.
Now grab the bow and go fill that A-22 tag you still have. Don't waste the momentum you have right now!
