Yea nice rooster!! I know you've been dying to go bird hutting but donald's probaly wanting it more. You've been cheating on him with your bow and rifle. :)
That is just like California. I love it and dont think I'll ever leave but I hate it at the same time. I get a little bummed out when I think of the money I pay to dfg and this type of stuff happens. I know dfg does a lot of good work too but don't slam a good hunter for something like this.
Thats awesome! I just got my first deer this year and I'm 26. I wish I would have got into the sport a lot earlier with someone showing me the ropes. Congrats.
So i have a question back on the shotgun topic. If i shoot a slug through my remington 870 is it necessary to use an open choke or would it damage the barrel if i used an improved cylinder or even a modified choke?
Re: Evening hunt....
Yea this was my first deer. Just last year got into deer hunting and I had some nice tag soup last season. But this year I just needed to get my first one out of the way. I saw her at 30yrds walking into some bushes and rushed the shot and missed. Luckily she didn't run...
I always seem to miss my first shot then make my second shot with the rage tips. It must be the broad heads not flying like feild points couldn't be the fact I need more practice or that I'm half blind ha ha.
Seems like most of the big bucks taken out of San Diego starts by the close relationship the hunter has with them. Looks like you have his pattern down I hope you get him!
