    The best buck ever

Longbow, My dad swore by using dow urine for our local deer and i watched it work well many times. Frag, Great so cal buck. Stay after it. He’s already hard horned so just keep in mind that once they lose their velvet they’re much harder to pattern. Josh

    Does, Does Everywhere

Same for me so far. Lots of does but tough to find decent bucks. I have found that the this time of the year when you find a decent buck there’s probably others with them. They’re typically in bachelor groups this time of the year. It seems like the younger spikes and forkies will be with the...

First weekend deer (not seeing many)

Dan, Very typical of deer this time of year. Typically I find the does are pretty easy to find in the early archery season. They’re usually down low in the oaks drinking plenty of water with bucks nowhere in sight except for maybe a few small spikes and forks. The big boys and other bucks are...

    What’s in your pack?

Mud Pigeon, Great information. Yeah I know how to cut around the joints with a knife pretty well to make easy work of it but that Gerber saw always seems to get used when I’m dressing out a deer. Whether it’s quartered or field dressed. Josh

    What’s in your pack?

Trig, That picture is classic. And to think that back then hunting G3,X9A,and every other zone was just one OTC tag. You still might find kippered snacks in my pack. Those things are tastey.

    What’s in your pack?

Great stuff guys. Lungpopper... I dig the goal zero light and new cook kit. The jet boils so easy but i could definitely shed ounces there. Longbow... just read through that other thread. Definitely looking forward to packing out this year. Drug one out 2 years ago for 3 miles in rough country...

    What’s in your pack?

I use a Gerber vital saw.

    What’s in your pack?

Yep. I’ve used it in the past for cutting through the sternum to make field dressing a little easier and to cut off the head. Probably won’t use it much this year as I’ll be mainly using the gutless method. That being said it’s ultra light and seems to come in handy for a lot of stuff. Josh

    What’s in your pack?

Alright guys so with our local deer season quickly approaching and a trip I have planned to hunt AZ I spent some time getting my pack together today. I thought this would be a good time to break down what I run in my deer pack and see what others are using. Keep in mind that what’s in my pack...

    Bow muscles (will be) ready

Not one. I screwed up and had accidentally turned the time lapse on so it was taking pictures every 20 seconds between 9am and 3pm. Literally the worst time of the day.:sob:

    Stalk in the woods.

Ethical bow range is dependent on many factors and varies drastically from one hunter to another. What makes a shot ethical depends on a few things in my opinion. The main factors at play are skill of the archer, knowledge of animal behavior, your ability to remain calm when an animal is in...
