    My day

At least you got that experience of drawing down on an animal. Next time try and slow it down a little and go through your shot sequence. This year Im going to get some Judo points to practice on small game while scouting.

    Hiking in the rain.

Went hunting on Thanksgiving. Rained all morning. Didnt see anything but it was my favorite day of hunting all season because of the rain. Saw some cool new areas and when I went back a few days later there were deer tracks over my boot prints.

    Mt Laguna. Hunting

Honestly, I dont even really look at my paper maps anymore. I do carry them in my pack in case of battery issues. I use a few apps to figure out public land. ONXhunt Avenza maps ( has a downloadable version of the folded CNF map, along with others...BLM and such.) Google earth

    Mt Laguna. Hunting

That map does not show the Laguna boundaries. The green bold line is the CNF boundary. While the Laguna Rec area is in the yellow it does not show the boundary. The visitors station near the Laguna Store has the area maps. The big folded version of the CNF map will show the red dotted boundary...

    How's the A22 going.

My buddy shot a doe last night. He said deer were out and moving around earlier than they have been all season. Cloudy and cool yesterday evening.

    OnX map question d16

I agree, ONX is an awesome tool, its helped me find no less than 5 new spots this year alone I wouldnt have thought about. I will continue to purchase it every year as it a tremendous help in locating new spots, but you still have to make sure it is correct. I just wanted to relay my...

    New to A tag

@PyroTekRob . Are you in San Diego or up a little north? If its San Diego I believe you are talking about an A-22 tag and not "A zone" tag correct? If your near LA I think its A-31 or A-32...not sure. Know the difference. An A-22 is the either sex tag for the D-16 zone. An "A zone" tag is for...

    OnX map question d16

I know of at least two areas in d16 that onx shows as being blm but are in fact preserves. I would suggest following up on areas to make sure they are in fact blm. Only way i found out they were preserves was to go check the area on foot.

    New Hunting Rig GX470

The XJ Cherokee has always been a unibody. Body on frame is stronger but there is enough aftermarket products out there to stiffen up the frame on the XJ if someone is willing to do it. Unless youre doing some serious rock crawling I dont think you need it. Love my XJ and wouldnt trade it for a...

    Bino harness?

Reviving this thread instead of starting a new one..... How do you like the Kuiu harness now that youve had time to use it? Im torn between the Kuiu and the Marsupial. The only thing about the Kuiu that Im worried about is the upper straps of the harness attaching directly to the binos. I like...
