    UT MD follow along

If it weren’t for the antlers the deer they shot might be mistaken for a Nilgai

    High Sierra Buck

I was surprised that his teeth were in pretty good shape. That does vary with diet though and regionally as well. I may send a couple teeth to Matson’s lab for aging just cuz I am curious as well. If anyone wants their deer (or any other animal) aged let me know and we can save some money. You...

    High Sierra Buck

Honestly I think that’s just where they are living. I have heard that from other people and seen photos of bucks at the tippy tops of ridges. It’s hard to believe when you are seeing all of this amazing country below you that looks like it should be just full of deer. I can assure you it is not...

    High Sierra Buck

It’s been a few years since I did a write-up like that but I do enjoy it when I can make the time to do it.

    High Sierra Buck

I decided to head north and hunt the Sierra range this year. I have spent a ton of time all over the Eastern Sierra for the past 30+ years but for whatever reason haven’t done a ton of hunting there. I wanted to backpack hunt but didn’t want to commit to one spot only. So I planned a week long...

    Montana, including Upland & Waterfowl.....2024

The variety of opportunities there is amazing… it’d be interesting to see how many species you could feasibly take in a day.

    Alberta 2024

These photo essays always make me so jealous Steve. What a great setup you have up there. I really wish there was some more easily accessible waterfowl hunting like that around here…. Every place has its pros and cons I suppose. Thanks for the great report

Mystery of the Columbian Black tail...

Nicely done! Doesn’t much matter what you shoot them with… if they are broadside that bullet is going to come out the other side.

    D15 Alert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FIRE FIRE FIRE

This has been my experience as well. 2 year average closure for the many different burns that have affected my hunts.

    Georgia Whitetail

Nice @NBK. Stand hunting is so different from western spot and stalk but is exciting in its own unique way. I love being in my spot in the dark and watching the woods come alive with the morning light. It can be pretty wild to turn your head and see a deer that somehow slipped into mere yards...

    Maui Axis

Because they don’t think they eat good? I’ve eaten several Texas hogs from hill country and they’re excellent. In that part of Texas they are eating tons of acorns when they’re available and tons of corn and I’m sure whatever other nasty things pigs regularly eat. I assume they all have...

    Maui Axis

Hard to find something that eats better than a corn fed Texas hog. I wonder how they compare in Hawaii.

    Stock Market down

Just zoom out a little and you’ll feel better. The strength of the US economy isn’t rooted in the comings and goings of politicians.

    Disappointed..

I don’t have an X9B tag . But that would be fun! @TRICER is losing his mind with all the travel he is doing this year. He doesn’t know what state he is in either….

    Disappointed..

This. Most people draw these Eastern Sierra tags and want to drive around down in the foothills and have a truck camp. There are some deer down low and you may kill a deer down there but the majority of the herd is up high. Lace up those boots.
