its been tough chasing these dang SoCal bucks with a bow. But it's my first year so I'm just learning. Have had some close calls but the give me the slip every time. Heading out tomorrow in hope of putting a really wide forky down. Gonna try and up load a video of him.
Here one of many this morning in a zone everyone say there is no deer. Plus there is bigger ones out there too. You just have to really look and put time in. Most public land hunters are road hunters. Not all but most. I'm after a huge forky that looks to be 28 wide. And about 180 on the hoof...
Thanks guys I've been shoot quite a bit since I've got it. I'm feeling pretty confident with soft ball size groups at 40 yards. They also get smaller as the distance gets shorter. Now it's just working on my stalking skills. Yesterday I got to about 12 yards of some deer in my zone before the...
so I just bought my first bow. I've shot achery before but I'm no expert. It's been a few years since I've shot but did pretty good for being a newbe. The bow I got is a diamond infinite pro set at 69lbs with a 28 inch draw. Can't believe I freaking bought a bow. Lol I'm a 100% rifle Hunter but...
I'm gonna try tomorrow see if he lets me snap some photos and maybe get some film. I had my dlsr with a Novagrade adapter for my spotter but no batteries!!! To say the least I was bummed. Plus he only gave me about 30 seconds to watch him. He's a dandy , we'll see if I catch him this weekend.
Spotted a shooter buck in my zone. A really wide and tall 3x3. Super good buck for my zone here in the local mountains. I'm thinking it's the big guy I saw last year. So now the count is up to 4 bucks three are legal shooters and one is a spike.
Tonys it's a well known spot so I'm sure you know where it's at. But yeah I don't know about a eucalyptus tree. And by the way I've been hearing some little birds singing in the mornings. I think we've talked about that some.
Yeah it tripped me out big time to see that this early. You always get good shots of deer and turkey. Can wait to get some more video of the deer in my area and in D16. But I'll be keeping shots tight in D16 cause there is a lot of really good hunters down there that can get it done compared to...
