The least expensive part of owning a hunting a dog is the purchase price (think at least $2000 for a the pup with good bloodlines and a proven hunting history from the bitch and sire.) Yes you will encounter prices for less but beware and do your homework . You can spend as little as a few...

    Second dove season

From my experience over the years waterfowl hunting on the river is all about the migration, they are there for a few days and then they are gone. The locals in Cibola know all about the quail and do drive by's on them in the early part of the opener and after that its crap shoot to find them if...

    Second dove season

Dove numbers up in the Mesa Grande, Santa Ysabel, lake Henshaw area are big during early December. I see flocks on my ranch day to day that number in the dozens every morning and afternoon. They disappear in January when the cold and wet weather sets in. No public land up here so not many get...

2023 Whitetail Extravaganza - Live hunt

Trained a dog a for client about 12 years ago (griffon). He ran over the dogs head with his f-250 dually one day. The dog lived, imagine that... P.S. the dogs head was very mishapen after the accident but it still hunted and lived a full life. Some things just can't be explained ...

Got it, I thought so, back in the day when it was developed it was called phenolic resin, tough stuff inert to most things except long term uv light. You and you're Dad won't need another knife anytime soon. Congrats that's a nice build. I built a knife back in the 70's from a power hacksaw...

    Flash back Friday..

Not sure, those things are less important to me than the memory. Notice the lower mandible being attached and wierd wood for the plaque that's what makes it for me with the mount

    Dove Hunting

M Maybe too much weather and it knocked down the adult population. Maybe that coupled with years of drought will cause the population to take more time to recolonize. I have not seen good turkey counts where I live since 2009.
