Thanks for the update. Sounds like a lot of good projects being completed. Definitely a huge improvement, it was in pretty rough shape last few seasons. Im really looking forward to getting down there.

There is never a better hunting partner than your dad. I went thru this same thing recently. I feel your loss. Nothing can take away the memories, I cherish them every day. Be strong, you know thats what he would want from you. And honor every new hunt to him. My families prays to yours.

That brings back so many great memories. Loved that area. Grandpa had anchored floating blinds with oil drums as buoyancy in different areas of the bay as far back as the 40s. Thanks for sharing

I read about this proposal on the TRCP site. They reported it involved opening the area up to fishing. No mention of hunting.

Done. Thanks for posting. Cut my teeth on waterfowling as a boy on Otay lake. My folks place was only a mile away, and there were lots and lots of duck hunting opportunities in the 60s and 70s within 20 miles of the house. Numerous riverbottoms, stock ponds, San Diego bay, gun powder point...

Come on , just because there are good flights of widgeon in the area doesn't equate to lanyards of dead widgeon showing up at the check station. I cant think of another person who would know the day to day movements of waterfowl better than MP

I agree with you about the receding sea, my issue with Wister is the deplorable condition it has fallen into. There are so many previously good sites from years ago that are not huntable today. Nowadays, I find myself driving to Wister and instead heading a little further east and enjoying days...
I know the campground is still a muddy mess. I was shoveling mud out from around the decoy trailer in an attempt to move it when is saw the snowcat tow rig being hauled down Davis rd. Somebody had a costly experience
