Honestly I think that’s just where they are living. I have heard that from other people and seen photos of bucks at the tippy tops of ridges. It’s hard to believe when you are seeing all of this amazing country below you that looks like it should be just full of deer. I can assure you it is not...

This has been my experience as well. 2 year average closure for the many different burns that have affected my hunts.

Nice @NBK. Stand hunting is so different from western spot and stalk but is exciting in its own unique way. I love being in my spot in the dark and watching the woods come alive with the morning light. It can be pretty wild to turn your head and see a deer that somehow slipped into mere yards...
