OnX is definitely not using satellite technology to identify water sources for their hunting app. That all just comes from information from surveys. They are just compiling available public information and putting it into a user friendly format.

They’re such cool guns. My uncle in Texas has several contender frames and lots of barrels. I hunt with them sometimes. I still think the Encore with a big game barrel and the .45/.410 barrel would be a sweet rig for AK or anywhere with Ptarmigan or Grouse. Would have been nice to have in Idaho...

Points are only associated with your first choice. You do not use points for 2nd or 3rd choice. So any reference to drawing with points, even if it is zero, is a first choice scenario.

More than any other state, putting in my Nevada app gets me fired up! Yes, in general tags are hard to come by.... but they have an awesome bonus point and draw system, and everyone has a chance. They manage for quality hunts and quality animals, and their application system is one of the best...

Ok just got some details on this. The tags still exist but they all go as auction tags now instead of some going as the fundraising raffle tags that we used to be able to get. So they are trying to maximize funding from these tags which is great for the sheep and elk but sucks for the average...

Auction and raffle tags produce a lot of money that goes directly to conservation. One or two of these for each species really increases funding over the regular license, application, and tag fees. It was also an “extra chance” to draw outside of the regular draw. Sad to see it go.
