My brother and I headed North to hunt ducks. Hunted Friday through Sunday. No shortage of ducks. Took Nikita. She did really well. Snowed good starting Saturday evening through most of Sunday.

I hunted SJ today. I figured, no way will the sweatline be as long as Saturday. It was close. Around 60 today versus 70 on Saturday. Wind came up good by 1100am. I took my older Lab out today. Montana had a lot of fun. I imagine it will be packed Saturday.

I took Nikita with me and headed for SJ this morning. There were 40 plus guys on the sweatline. We drew 35. Nothing really open. Went with the refill option. A guy came in with 6 ducks from one of the Marshes. We took that Blind. The wind was howling. Ducks were flying from all directions. I got...
40 plus guys on the sweatline at SJ. I was around 30 something. Got on early but not much was happening. Refilled and ended up with 4. Lots of Wind. Sounded like the Walkers were shooting. I was North in the Es. Couldn't get a slot South. 70 plus degrees. Pretty crazy. Here is a Pic of Nikita.

46 on the sweatline and 11 on the refill. Made a go of it. Got a couple. Montana is coming up on 11 years old but still a puppy when hunting. Remarkable sunrise. The Marines were out in force. Great talking to you all. I hope the boys from Arkansas got into the Cinnamon Teal.

Where the hell is everyone? Hunted public and no one was anywhere near me. Used one hen decoy. Dropped a bearded bird at at around 45 to 60 yards. The TSS No.7 is no hype. Primos Jelley Head.

My last hunt of the season was today. I only had a couple of hours then I had to work. Took Montana. We got 4 and headed home. Nice day. Wister was shooting crap on the North End. Nice mix.

Hunted with both the girls today. Grey sky's all day. I left when it just started to rain. Hunted just North of Wister. They were shooting good. Pic of the Lab looking out the blind is Nikita. Wondering why we don't shoot Coots. Second one is my Senior Lab. Montana just has that look when I...
Hunted SJ on the 24th with Jay. I took Nikita. We had to leave by 1100am but still did well. Slow day but we made the most of it and did way better than most. Merry Christmas.

Nikita's first duck season ended very well. She did a great job and learned a lot. She got a lot of retrieves in. The Wigeon worked great today and came in on the call really well. For those of you hunting Sunday have fun and be safe.

That Wolf that made its way to Cali from Oregon got whacked by a car. Sounds like he made it down to around Kern before some Yuppie likely hit him with their Electric Car. I actually admired him. All this way solo and people concerned a Hunter or Rancher would shoot him. Instead, he likely got...
Hunting now with my one year old lab. Shot a double on Gads. So, she has two retrieves so far today. She has much to learn. Fun watching a young dog making sense of it all.
