Who has a savage axis ii

Did it come with the scope? I’ve seen some packages but I don’t know what glass they come with.

Who has a savage axis ii

He’s only 9 and 60 lbs so he’s probably a bit small for a full size. I’m probably a little ahead of myself anyway. He has a Savage Rascal that he shoots pretty well but he could use more trigger time on that. There was a thread on rokslide that had me thinking of 223 in a youth rifle. Plus I...

Who has a savage axis ii

I’m considering a future center fire for my son and the savage axis ii compact in .223 seems like it would make a good starter for building form and hunting on the smaller game side (especially with our lead restrictions). Has anyone used and liked the axis ii? Anyone specifically used the .223...

    Turkey Decoy spreads

But then what will we talk about on the forum? :D I’d take book recommendations as well! ;)

    Turkey Decoy spreads

So when you do use them you like a standard 2 hen, 1 Jake setup?

    Turkey Decoy spreads

You just call them in then? That’s impressive.

    Turkey Decoy spreads

Those who have had success so far this season, what kind of spread are you finding the toms like? Standard Jake and hen setup or just hens?

    Wet Stinky Turkeys

I’ve read before that if you get breaks in the rain, the turkeys like to get out and take advantage of it, sunning and eating bugs. I don’t know if this is the right kind of storm though. May not have breaks.

Mountain Lion in downtown Oceanside neighborhoods

Does anyone know our legal obligations if we smack a cat on the public road? Can we toss it in the trunk and drop it off with the teximdermist?

    Apache rifle case thoughts

I don’t know if that makes sense unless I have two in the same chambering. I have heard that some guys going to Africa carry a second scope as backup and have them both zeroed in and installed with detachable rings like Warne.

    Apache rifle case thoughts

That makes sense. The cut foam will probably pull away over time but that’s not a big deal.

    Apache rifle case thoughts

That’s what I was thinking but I’m not sure what pair makes sense. Down the road it’d make sense to put mine and my sons guns together but he’s not there yet. And I don’t need two center-fire rifles. Maybe a shotgun or a .22? The thing is that the foam is pick and pluck and I figure I’ll be...

    Apache rifle case thoughts

I picked up one of the Apache 9800 rifle cases from harbor freight while they were on special. Seems sturdy enough for the price. Any thoughts on how to configure the rifle in there? How do you guys with similarly sized cases set them up?

    Own a 6.5crd. Should I consider a 7MM?

Are we talking 7mm mag or something sexy like 7x57?

Maybe we’ll get lucky and some yuppies will get eaten. Maybe then they’ll let us start shooting pumas again.

I’m pretty sure that’s a puma. The tip of the tail can be seen by the hind paw if you look closely at the photo. And as Steve pointed out, no spots. Plus the fur is smooth and short.

It’s difficult to make out but you can just see the end of the tail sticking out by the hind paw of the cat in the OP. I’d say it’s definitely a puma.

270 win seems made for copper. 6.8 isn’t too different from 6.5 performance wise.
