Got drawn as alternate for opener, winner couldn't make it. It's a boat into blinds, but was curious as to just how deep the water is, I don't like to swim. Never hunted the Grizzly area, besides cleaning my shotgun after, any advice would be appreciated. I guess CWA even provides decoys...

That makes since, sadly those are the refuges I hunt the most, last year was a ton of ringnecks, tons of Northern shovelers, and many teal, a gadwall and a pintail. Kid missed a mallard on junior weekend, spoonies and teal. haha.

I'm entering my 6th year waterfowling on CA public land, mostly in the grasslands. One bird that somehow has evaded me is a drake wigeon. If you wanted to shoot a bunch of wigeon where would you apply?

I shot some #5 kent Teal steel last season and the shit was deadly. Even on longer shots, stone dead. Not sure why but I killed a lot more ducks last year going 2 sizes smaller.
