I shot a decent 3x3 and thought I would share the story with everyone, let me apologize ahead of time for the crummy photos and you will understand why they are so dark after you read the story.
So on the evening on the 21st I wasn't even going to go out because I had to work, but then my wife convinced me that we should go for a quick hunt. So we went to a area that was fairly close to home that I have hunted for quiet some time. I had gone out there earlier in the season and had not seen much of anything but does and the road looked like a freeway so I told her it was most likely a waste of time, but we went anyway. So we get to the area and I start glassing the deep canyons and see a nice 3x3 off in the distance and decide I am going to put a stock on him well I get 340 yards away and felt confident with the shot and went ahead and took it and shot him in the heart he only went a few steps ( just enough to go over the ridge into the next canyon) and fell. It was pretty cool because this was actually my first deer that my wife was able to watch me shoot! after the shot I realized the canyon he went into I was going to need help, so I ran home dropped my wife off that had to now get ready for work and picked up a buddy to help me get him out of the canyon. Once I got back to the buck and was able to take some pictures it was now after 6:30 when the sun had set so it was pretty dark, but he was exactly where I had last seen him! Over all it was a pretty decent season, my buddy got his first buck on opening weekend and my wife also got her first buck as well! now that our season is over we now have another year to wait
