Been hunting big game non stop for at least 8 years. Rookie duck hunter. It is pretty fun. This post will get a bunch of shit from @BOWUNTR but its okay, He will be hunting speckled belly mallards with me one day. Anyways photo dump from this passed hunting season. Started off bear hunting in the sierras in august, swing and a miss on a great bear that came in hot to a predator call. Had to check my pants after the shot was fired. Did not have to change my britches. Drew a Sierra x zone tag. Parked the truck at 6k hiked up to 10k +, passed on multiple bucks finally, found the right one unfortunately I got a little too close spooked the buck. He ran right into another Hunter’s lap. The d16 quality buck i shot in the sierras was passed for 3 days he decided to get a little close in my trigger Finger was a little itchy. My buck tested negative for CWD. Drew an arizona rifle mule deer tag. Had my hopes up for 4x4 or bust. Quickly found one a day before opener within walking distance from camp watched him all day and at the last 10-15 minutes of light road Hunter pulled up next to him spooked him out of the country could not relocate the next day. Passed on some small forkys and a “semi decent” 3x3 the first 2-3 days. He got a little too close moved in for a shot. Sent it right over his back at 420 yards. Quickly located another group of deer moved in right before last light. Cut them off on their way to water, out came another D 16 quality buck hahaha. With under a 100 yard shot and my buddy that tagged along moving to the East Coast decided to take the deer to enjoy, which would become very possible our last hunt together for a very long time. I suck at story telling but there it is fellas! 2024 hunting season.
