Sportsman Channel, the leader in outdoor TV for the American Sportsman is honored to bring mule deer enthusiasts a full hour of inspirational mule deer stories in Mule Deer Documentary. Tim Abell, Host, is a passionate mule deer hunter and will bring to light the serious issues facing the “icon of the west” – mule deer. Unfortunately, limited habitat, energy development and automobile accidents have contributed to a decline of the mule deer population in western United States. Audiences will NOT want to miss Mule Deer Documentary on Monday, March 19 at 6 p.m. EST.

The mule deer population stretches from northern Canada to southern Texas. This regal animal can grow to 40” in length which makes them one of the most treasured big game animals in the country. Hunters from across the western U.S. are devoting time and energy to ensure the conservation of mule deer so they can prosper in their natural habitat.

“The lack of habitat is a significant issue in the decline of this majestic animal,” said Tim Abell, Host of Mule Deer Documentary. “Housing developments are shrinking the areas where the deer not only used to live, but also retreat for ‘winter range’. Thankfully, organizations such as Mule Deer Foundation, WAFWA (Western Association of Fish & Wildlife) and others have stepped forward to help build highway underpasses and high fences to help the flow and containment of deer in urban areas. We as sportsmen have a lot of work to accomplish; however, I believe we’re on the right track.”

This compelling episode also features Tim Abell on a guided mule deer hunt in the Golden, Colorado area. This spot and stalk mule deer hunt gives viewers a first-hand glimpse of responsible hunting in the majestic, snow-covered backcountry. Abell and his guide hike and glass for a mature mule deer before they spot a pack in the near distance.

The entertainment and educating continues as audiences will experience the generosity of famous country music singer, Kristy Lee Cook and her gracious donation to the Mule Deer Foundation.

Sportsman Channel thanks the Mule Deer Foundation for creating this exceptional documentary.

It was great.Total tribute to the king of deers.I like the comment about if you find your self bored with nothing to do in December you should go out and kill a few cayotes. And they also say no enviromental groups have ever spent a penny to help wild life, and that they use wild life to raise money for there other interests, and that the wild life is here today because along time ago the hunters stepped up and put there money where there mouths are.
