Hi folk new to hunting so not up to date on what all the tags are. I am a little confused with what the AO tag is for and need a little bit clearing up. My question is can I use the AO tag in any A,B,D zone during the general season or only during archery season. Since d11 is coming to a close I wanted to get a AO tag and try my luck in d12 or d16 since they go till nov23. Is that a good plan or should I just wait till next season any help is much appreciated.

Yes you can hunt in the rifle season of the two D tags you mentioned. The AO tag acts like the D tag but its bow & buck only.

Yeah I believe the A0 tag is good for the A zone, B zones, C zones and all D zones except D17 and maybe one more D zone. Just remember it's archery only and the specific zone you are hunting needs to actually be in season. Correct me if I'm wrong guys.

It was mentioned (a bow hunting website) that D-16 was NOT eligible with an AO tag because it's a premium tag.......Nowhere in the F&G code book or regs that states that.......Your good to go in both D-12 & D-16.

Thanks for all the replies everyone. This helps me a lot. Now just have to hope I get lucky this weekend on d11.
