Is an AO tag in the A22 zone good for both bucks and does? I’m coming across other hunters stating I need an A22 tag specifically to bag a doe.
Thanks.

AO is only good during D16 for buck only.
So your season is over down here.

So I can use my AO for A31 hell yes

Thanks again guys.
one more question...if AO is for bucks only then why does it ask what gender was harvested “male or female”?
It also says to attach to ear if the deer doesn’t have antlers.
Tried calling a warden or verification...message left no response yet.

The AO (Archery-Only) tag allows hunting with archery equipment only during the archery and general seasons in A, B, or D zones and Hunt G10 (military only). To hunt during an X zone or C zone archery season, you must have an Area-Specific Archery Hunt tag for the appropriate zone. You may not possess a firearm or crossbow when hunting under the authority of an Archery-Only deer tag except as otherwise provided.

For does you need an area specific tag

I'm sure it's because the harvest reports/ tags are standardized. Everyone gets the same piece of paper to fill out. Otherwise they'd have to create a different form for each of the specific hunts.

Also. If any AO tag was good for buck or doe, what would the point be in having the A series archery hunts for either sex? That would be redundant.

Got it. Thanks. Takes a few whacks to my head until I realize things.

over the passed few years there has been a high demand for A22 tags good luck depending on where you live you may want to go with an A31/32 and spend the spring & summer scouting
