yearround javelina otc hunt? sounds goof to me.

Got some inside information from both the guys at arizonahuntingforums.com and the Yuma fish and game. i guess there is a small population of javelina thats a nuisance in the mohawk valley area to farmers. i found this information that the yuma department put out a couple years ago. i called and its a little washed out but as it dries the heard should be back in the area.

hoping to head over throughout the year until the sep and dec hunts start popping off.
anyone interested? i found come camp sites around the area.

figured if i was going to buy a AZ license for the elk fraw i might as well hunt AZ through the year.

heres the link the last to pages (5/6) contain the hunt im talking about.

i can still use this for my street view scouting. instead of flipping back and forth from onx to google earth haha
41 is large but the javelina are near yuma

been looking at the weather history charts and it looks like it starts to pick up in temp and low rain around march and april. might be hard when spring turkey is starting here. but if we could find dates in early summer then that would be perfect.

Those year round hunts are depredation hunts mostly for the dome valley and Wellton area in Yuma. Good luck finding pigs in there. I hunt the area a lot and I wouldn’t waste my time or money looking for pigs in the area

Yo Sdhunt, would be interested in joining where/when you decide to. Been doing a lot of AZ research and since I already have my AZ license from my unsuccessful OTC archery deer hunt...
Have heard there is only 2 ways to eat those suckers though; low and slow in a ground pit (or equivalent) or 60/40 jerky. Regardless, have heard they are a fun hunt.

If you have a license go online and buy points for elk and antelope the draw deadline is a week away. Only $15 a point.

Haven't wrapped my head around their point system yet, with that said, how many should I get?
will look into this tonight. Thanks.
