I was sitting under a tree at Lake Murray a few years ago and it started raining guts. I looked up and an enormous Osprey was up there shredding a squirrel.

Super cool! Msteiger I know which osprey you're talking about.. he has that giant nest in the telephone pole across the lake. Pretty impressive bird.

I saw one with the needlefish that was like 2 feet long and a flock of seagulls chasing it

Last September I saw 2 ospreys hitting grayling which were in a stream full of spawning chum salmon. Over 10 days, they'd hit it several times a day and always show up with fish headed back toward a roost/nest, always with the fish head facing where they were going.

I was float giving Murray when I was a kid and it must've been the young one but it grab the trout and I thought it was going to drowned it took about a minute and a half or to get out of the water

Ok, I have a question. If you're Osprey hunting and one fly's by with a fish in it's talons, do you need both a hunting license and fishing license? And what size shot would be the best? I am thinking #2's or BB's - they look like a pretty tough bird. I wonder if Suburban Adventurous has a good recipe?

While fishing a buddies pond last winter an osprey dropped in and grabbed a nice bass, I looked at my dad and said we will never see that again!!!! Not ten minutes go by and the bird dive bombs the pond again and gets another fish!! Even though we got skunked, one of the most exciting things to see...... come to think of it, now i know why we got skunked haha :-[

Was at Lake Dixon a couple weeks ago and an osprey attempted to take a guys fish off his stringer from the shore line. He yelled and it flew off. He left after that maybe he was thought he would be on the menu!
