Barnes Factory Tour

Had the opportunity to go tour the Barnes facility in June before my Grizz hunt with them. The point of the trip was selecting a bullet for my 45-70 and for Dale Evans 30-06 for the hunt.

Here is the first part of the tour tomorrow our range day video will be live and on the 1st the Grizz film goes live.

Pretty cool experience getting to see how in depth these guys are when it comes to making ammo. I have always been a fan of Barnes ammo it just works.

Can you speak on any new cases coming out from Barnes to complete with the +Peak?

Barnes biggest struggle is they don't make their own brass/cases. Hopefully that changes in the future. But federal is loading LRX in their 7mm BC and in the 6.5 + peak that comes out this fall. That plus peak gives you better velocity than a prc in a CM case

I can say the stuff they are doing for Q rifles is pretty insane.

Barnes and Sierra are both one company now that has been cool to watch. They are now for the first time selling Sierra loaded bullets that was never a thing. Doesn't really matter for CA but the Harvest series is super cheap like $30-40 a box and I have seen deer smoked over 500 yards with those things. A Sierra game king loaded at that price is impressive.
