My brother in law hooked my daughter up with a trip to Texas for her 13th birthday to hunt some deer on his place in cottle county tx, as a surprise I set up a hog hunt for her at a good friends place in Comanche Tx. So two days after her birthday she breaks her ankle luckily she gets a walking cast. So three days after she gets her cast on we fly out to Dallas at 6am nov 21 land in Dallas at 1:30 pm the head to Comanche get there at 4:30 get to the blind at 5:15 and she plants a 180lb boar at 5:30 with a borrowed 243 bolt action she has never seen before. Next mornin we head out to cull a couple bucks at my buddies place we get to the blind and deer are out we find the buck he wants her to take its 200 yards out and now she has her 243 single shot and is usually very deadly with it winds blown it cold and we have the first miss of her life the deer trot of so we climb the 20 ft ladder into the blind and get sat down and she is freaking out the blind us swaying in the wind she don't like heights so she settles the cross hairs and I tell her easy squeeze and miss #2 she us beside herself. We head back to the camper I check her rifle and it's still on at 200 yards. So we jump in the truck and drive 3 hours to cottle county set out cams and hit the room and Mother Nature has ascended upon us one of the coldest days I've spent in the blind, action slow sat morning the snow is coming so after lunch and a nap we hit the blind for text eve and get a little action see a few mulies yep little bucks but no opportunity. Head out ready for some snow and better huntin back in the ground blind sun mornin three inches fresh snow 20degs 25 mile an hour winds freaking frozen. Minutes after shooting light the deer are out have does and fawns on top of us spot a little forkie mulie told the kid there's a buck if you want we have to make a move with out the doe busting us so pure luck my brother inlaw starts to rattle from the other blind and gets the seers attention so we stand up I tell her to get on the buck and be ready for him to step out from behind the tree at 40yards but he turns the opposite way into the trees and is trotting so I told one chance when he hits this opening so 60 yards he hits the opening moving pretty good and she lets him have it quartering away jus behind the shoulder and done deal he hoes 50 yards and piles up!!! So we go down and look him I've take some pics and head to the other blind with my brother inlaw get in the box blind with the heater and starn warming up 15 mins later mulies start coming out and a little 3x3 comes out fine deal. Sun eve cold ugly weather no whitetails, head in and cut meat all night, head out Monday mornin and set up in box blind and nothing but mulies, so my brother inlaw and I tell the kid we are going in to check out of motel you stay or come with she decides to stay we tell her shoot any whitetail you see they are legal. Back at motel 15 mins and phone rings" dad I have a buck down a whitetail buck down" I bout craped myself said you serious and she sent pics of a little spike " very proud dad and uncle!!" We load up head over and she's standing by her buck just proud as hell! Take some pics and load up and head back tocomanche to my buddies house the try for the cull buck we sit the stand Notta comes out. All my years hunting and years guiding non have ever been more fun or exciting than this one, her first two deer back in 2011 were both bigger but thi was way more fun!!

Nice, congrats to your daughter. I don't know anything about pigs, but that one sure looks bigger than 180 lbs. Lol, if I ever take a 150 lb. pig, I will post it at 300 lbs., lol.

What a great report. Thanks, congrats on a great hunt and give your daughter a high five from the gang at SCH!

That is so awesome, I cannot wait until my 7 year old can go with me and hunt, she just asked me this weekend when she can take hunters safety and go up the hill with me to shoot a deer with her bow!

Thanks to of you. Cm hope you can get you little on on the trigger soon. the best part of huntin is when you get to watch your kids run the gun I've watched both my daughters do it and always a blast.
