Blaze orange on MCC?

For the MCC members here, do you feel blaze orange is necessary when hunting on the club’s land?

Shouldn’t be any other hunters in our zones but… with the possibility of trespassers or members accidentally crossing the boundaries is it a good idea?

Not a member but, any time you are out hunting of any kind you should have some orange on. It's so easy to pick out, just a flash in the brush when quail hunting and right away you know someone is there. I said any time but, duck hunting in an established blind may be one exception.

I was a member for a season I don't think you need orange you will be fine.

Just a strip of orange ribbon around your hat.

Turkey see color for what it's worth if you or others didn't know. I still carry it on me though, if others are around I'll whip it out.

I would say turkey is another situation where orange is not an best option. I always try to setup so my back is against a large tree with a good amount of brush behind that. I set decoys about 30 yards out. Not hunting MCC, leaves the chance other hunters will happen on my set up and at that point I make them aware of my presence, at that point the hunt is over anyhow. I will have some orange on when I walk out. all some people need is movement.

I had a new hunter ask my if glazed orange was required when hunting. I told him it was but, be sure to cut way back on the sugar.

I think wearing orange for deer season , is totally different then wearing it for turkey season.

WTF was that guy shooting at. He's what 20 yards behind those guys and they are not shooting, so that means no turkey was within their range. FOOL.

During the entire video the turkey fan was laying on the ground on the hunters right side. No excuse what so ever for that happening.

There’s a meat eater podcast with a dude that was a world champion Turkey caller that’s been shot twice in his life. It was like 20 years apart or something but happened with like 100 yards of each other. Bad spot I’d say, lol

Exactly. The video is three minutes, ever see a turkey stand still for that long. I haven't.

A lot of idiots will just shoot at movement and then look to see what they shot at. I almost always wear orange for the walk in and walk out, just a ball cap. Oh, and my sitting pad is orange and clipped to the back of my pack.

Also a story, a couple of years ago a friend and I were hunting somewhere up on Palomar. We had settled into a natural hide when we saw another hunter come into the area. We waved to him to let him know where we were and he brought his rife up and pointed it at us! I think he might have taken a shot but fortunately I carry an orange bandana in my pocket (for this very reason) and waved it at him. No shots were fired but to this day I have no idea what that f-ing idiot was thinking.
