California King at work

Got home tonight and got to watch the King do his thang. Amazing how wrapped up this alligator lizard was. I watched off and on for about 45 min and the lizard was just about done.

So rad, nature in action. Great photos. That’s when snakes are the most vulnerable to other predators too, when theyre immobilized for an hour while in the open.

Had the same exact scenario in my yard once....I'm assuming that the king won, but the process took hours....Came back later and they were both gone....King's are great for ridding the prop of rattlers too.

Growing up I had a friend with a king for a pet. It was a real treat when we could catch a rattler. We had a few cage matches... the KING always won!
