Is there any public land out there?

If so what zone is it?

And say there's no public land to hunt out there could u hunt the private land out there?

It's D15. You have to get permission to hunt it. There's info on it on the DFG site under D15. Here's the zone map.

bring your checkbook... no public land at all. its over 2k to deer hunt there if i remember correctly.

It used to be so epic. Ride the ferry over and bow hunt for a weekend two pigs and all the goats you could stick for 300 bucks. Then Folks LIke avalons own Dr Bill Bushing pushed to eradicate the pigs and goats to return the island to a natural state. They are slowly killing everything off all the channel islands to return them to their pristine state. The Deer will go too one day...........

IF only DR BILL would point the finger at him self and his sewage that comes out his back side that contaminates Avalon harbor. I once told DR bill who would troll the dive park next to the casino" Hey Bill would you support removing avalon to help return the island to its natural state. He just looked at me and scoffed....

IF i sound bitter i am,

Yep, many of us missed the heyday when it came to hunting on Catalina Island. That includes me. Heard some awesome stories and seen incredible adventures of what it once was. Not any more....

I've done a little research on hunting Catalina. There is only one outfitter allowed to guide hunts and thru are expensive. Too much for me.

Some bucks taken in 2012 on the island.
