Where can one send in a hide in the southwest region. I’ve found a few places but trying to keep it a little closer to home. A full size steer is gonna kill me on shipping.
I know some taxidermists will wait until they have enough hides to make it worth their shipping to the tannery. Maybe you could work out something mutually beneficial with one?
By the time you pay for shipping both ways and the tanning... you can buy a lot nicer finished cow hide for less. Unless it's a sentimental pet... I wouldn't bother.
There's two tanneries in California that I use regularly. Golden State Tannery and Wildlife Fur Dressing. Both are good and located in the central valley. Ed F
