This method always worked for me...but Im a new also so someone more experienced please chime in if I'm mistaken...
Have your ONX map fired up. Take a freeway to a highway. Then take that highway to a road. Make sure your on huntable land (NF, BLM) Park car at trailhead and hike in. Don't just go in hundreds of yards...at least 1 mile. Find a high point that you can see ridges, hillsides, meadows, and glass. Make sure your still in your hunting boundary with your ONX.
