Seems like it happens every year. You don’t think about it but dogs don’t know any better.... please just open your action if you’re stopping to water your dog or do anything else.

Stupid move but it seem's to continue to happen year after year, never walk away from a loaded gun...

For newbies:
Basic training. Remove all shells,
Or mag, empty chamber, keep action open. Treat it as loaded. Keep pointed
In safe direction.
Sad story for this young man.
Even keeping the action open it can
Accidentally shut close. And rifles and shotguns have been know to go off
Even with safety on.
Never trust it.
