I found a couple boxes of old Remington duplex shells. They are BBx2 and 1x3. Have you guys hunted with duplex shells? Do they have advantages over shells that contain one shot size, or is it a gimmick?
There's a reason they are old and are not offered currently.... Waterfowl shotshells have changed tremendously over the past thirty years and for the better at this point in time.
Good to know. I’m glad I didn’t go out there thinking I’ve got skybuster’s gold. I might have to start a waterfowl museum, my dad has some lead shells that say they’re for ducks.
I've got a mixed can of old waterfowl shots and only really use em once in awhile to screw around thinking they'd be slow and crappy compared to the new stuff.Fred,
You’re right on the money. Those shells are as slow as molasses and were part of the reason 31/2” shells came out. I have some that are part of my waterfowl museum. And that’s where they’ll stay. Lol

@ilovesprig show us the collection of old boxes. I have a bunch somewhere, but these are the most recent additions.Old boxes are real collectible…If I was home, I’d post a pic of a 100 or so…lol
ps…They’re even better, if they’re full of shells

I have shot these before. Its a mixshot as well. Saw some at big 5 the other day. They work alright but they were pricey and for the price range ill stick to my kents
I wasn't going to go there.Doesn’t matter what shell I shoot they all have the same affect when I miss.
My favorite !Same here........I'll stick with Kent 3" 1 1/8 #3's..........
Although my duplex shells are obsolete, I do have good news. Yesterday I found a single Remington 20 gauge 3 inch shell loaded with #6 hevi shot in the garage. This is bizarre because there is only one and we have no idea where it came from. Dad does not have a 20, I have a 20 but I only used it for doves. The best guess is that it got misplaced by someone dad hunted with years ago and ended up in his bag. When I take out my 20 for ducks this year, that hevi-shot shell will be kept in my coat pocket for the unfortunate ruddy that swims in. Being that there is only one, I must save it for a water swat to ensure that I witness the power of hevi shot. That hevi-shot #6 shoulder hammer them right?
