Took Pop out in the Whaler last night looking for a few bugs to close out the season. Long Beach area, tide and moon looked good for a crawl. It’s been a mediocre-minus season for us, so deciding where to go wasn’t easy. Finally chose an area that sucked earlier this season but has been good in past years.

First few nets produced some nice bugs, then it turned into a spider crab fest. Decided to stay in the area and finished with six lobster. Quantity wasn’t great but quality was good, only measured two. Hope springs eternal - October 2018 is coming!

Dad after one particularly good net.

It’s fun taking newbies, I’ll see what I can do when the new season gets close.
