Well I got my new Wickid Light for Christmas and like any kid I couldn't wait to try it out. So last night I threw my 2 boys in the truck and headed to a spot in Otay that I know has Coyotes. I don't know what I was thinking it took all but 15 minutes into my set before a helicopter inferred us and there were border patrol trucks in the field lights flashing and everything. I guess they were hunting coyotes too, just not the kind with fur. Well lesson learned. I am going back out tonight and hopefully tomorrow night as well. I think from now on I will try and stay north of the 8.
On a side note the boys thought it was awesome and the border patrol agents were super cool. I am glad to have them out there protecting our borders.

+1 on protecting our borders.

The coyotes in the area you mentioned get a ton of pressure.

Ya I am finding that out. I have only got one to show out there. Probably been out there 10 times. I was hoping they would be bolder at night. I have a guy who is going to take me out he said he has some spots out there that he does well at but it takes about a mile hike in off the road. From now on I will do evening and morning hunts out there.
I have some ideas for some spots I am going to to try in CNF this weekend.

Give us a rundown on how you liked the Wicked light.
Will it compete with the BP lights? ;D

Well considering I only got 15 minutes with it it seemed pretty great. Pretty clear out to about 200 with my Leuopold but you can see much farther. One thing I did notice was the beam seemed consistent it didn't have a hot spot in the middle which I hear can be a problem spooking them.

My sister Chihuahua got eaten by a Coyote I am going out to her property tonight to hopefully take care of that for her. I missed one at dusk a few months ago at her house. Hopefully with my shotgun that wont be an issue tonight. That one came in with in 30 seconds of starting the call I wasn't ready at all. I will give you a better review of the light as the weekend goes on. Sat night should be a long night so hopefully I will really put it to the test.

Hell yeah I might try the spot out if people are mentioning on the Internet it's probably pretty good

For real keep your kids close lions come in behind have a back drop
