not sure how big a deal this is? so far they have only been found near Blythe. Cant get info as to if they only found it there because that is where they looked or if its always been here and no one ever looked.

dogs and the river are a thing , treatments seem pretty good but quite a few dogs die that get this

It's only a big deal if it's your dog that gets the parasite. It can be treated, but as the article states, it may take months to show up, so if your dog gets in the river then shows any of the signs, get them tested right away. I don't want to be reading stories about someone losing their best friend.
