0 dark thirty...... In the stand waiting patiently. Spooked something on the way in...Scared the crap out of me!!!! 30yards LOL blood pumpin now. Nice and chilly and dead quiet no wind. AO tag needs fillin

I jumped something like that in the dark a few years ago, while archery hunting.
On my way back to the truck, I found mountain lion tracks.
I had jumped it off the trail, and it circled around behind me and followed me for about 80 yds, then it's tracks disappeared. Scared the crap outta me, after, at the time I thought it was a deer

7:40 had been callin for about 20 min. Just had a fork and a doe come in to about 60 yds. No shot. Never cleared the branches to give me the shot. I can still here them moving around. He seems interested in the caliing.

Good stuff Tony. Hopefully there is more action tonight!

I had something like that happen to me on the opener I was looking for a good place to get out of a steep bottom and 30 yards with a bad light and I saw eyes then heard something quietly walk in the opposite direction. Not sure what it was but a few weeks back I saw a lion come out of same the bottom.

No action this evening. I tried a different stand where it's rifle also, lots of fresh sign... Back at it in the morning. Taking the rifle out. Bang!!!!

Yah, I never even thought about it at that moment. But on the way back to the truck I noticed the tracks were over mine walking out to hunt, but i had walked over some heading the opposite way. Once i put it all together and took photos of the tracks, came home and looked em up. Thats when i got the eaby jeabys. Goes through my head on the walk out very time since then.

Morning report..... 3 different groups of does with fawns. One doe was hot and didn't take long for a nice 2by3 to come in with his nose to the dirt chasing her. Watched them for a couple hours as he chased her out of range and out of view. Nice warm morning..... Back in the stand for the afternoon

Evening report.... Sat in the stand from 3 till dark. Not a whole lot going on till about almost dark. Had a big group of at least 8-10 deer come through at 50 yards. One of which was clearly a large!! Buck. I don't mean just head gear but his body was huge. My step father would tell me stories about these big desert muleys that would come up from the desert. He claims he shot a 200plus 4by4 way back in his day up on the hill. Always thought he was BS me. Now I believe it. It was still legal shooting time so I drew back....at 50 yards and low light With a really tight shooting lane I didn't like what I saw through the P sight. I will prey tonight that I get another chance at him. Back at it in the AM
