Spent the morning checking out some local public land wallows and beds with the dogs. At about 0900 my strike dog got a little excited and took off into the deepest, poison oak infested, brushiest place in San Diego. Unfortunately we were a little too late for this monster hog working the area but got a good game plan for next time we go out. Found out where this hog's been working and where its going to root and bed down. Other than the near death experience hike, had a blast being out with the dogs.

Thanks guys! Its definitely getting harder and harder in SD. The USDA guys are putting a dent in the population but hopefully the smarter ones will get into the areas where the government hunters don't have access and repopulate the county.

Thats a good time waiting to happen right there, looks like you are closing in.

Have you seen the USDA guys out there? I assume they are using any means necessary. 5 days a week kinda deal?

Have they resorted to the kiwis in the helicopters at all?

Keep after him, your getting his area down pat.. As for the USDA hunters fire them all I say..
