Goose has been improving what’s seems to be daily. This dog is a tracking machine. So much as look a the peanut butter on the shelf and this dog will come running through the house lookin for her spoon full…. I work tracking drills in the yards on both sides of my house, works great and the neighbors get a kick out of it.
Have yet to loose a planted pigeon in the field we train in, and she is pointing every bird. Need some steadiness work but for 7 months and a back yard pedigree I’m pumped. I’d hunt her tomorrow if the season was open. I feel she needs to hunt at this point and get that wild bird exposure weekly.
This dogs prey drive has gone from middle of the road to certified heart beat stopper. If it moves Goose’s eyes will catch it and she turns in to a pointer. Mean tom cat in the neighborhood and they’re not friends trust me…. Not to sure if she will ever learn that lesson. She likes to tempt fate.
Super excited and training is going well. Still just reinforcing the basics but I have been introducing whoa. Been running here few times a week in the fields and that has been the key to her progression for sure. I have yet to collar condition her to any commands but that is coming in the next week or two.
Not gonna mess with backing of another dog just yet, need to get her rattle snake trained, she is a heavy cover monster for being 39 lbs. I’m hoping she rounds out around 50lbs but she has a ways to go.
