While everything is still in flux based on water, rain… here are key items:

Kesterson: blinds 1-5 May not get water until late in year. Blinds 18-22 May be delayed. Blind 28 moved to better spot.

West and East bear will be delayed.

Dec for East bear and ‘maybe’ Jan for West bear.

Blue goose should be open and all sites avail on opener.

Merced open but Mariposa wetlands uncertain - but hopeful.

Mendota: hyacinth still bad. No trailered boats allowed and the launch closed.

Hand launched boats can be launched out of lots 4 and 5.

They hope to have about 350 quota.

LB: expect opener quota at 65 with 1,417 acres flooded.

Volta: expects quota of 90 with about 2,000 acres flooded.

Salt Slough: expects 40 quota plus an ADA blind

China Island: expects quota as 10 on the flood plain Only.

Managed wetlands won’t be huntable until later in Nov, and quotas will increase as avail.

Gadwall will not open until Nov 26. Then hope to have a quota of 27.

Again… things can change. So staff asks hunters to stay informed and check refuge’s web sites as we get closer
