I believe it was Santana... I have my Pandora on shuffle and while I was recording I was hoping that some heavy metal (Slayer preferably) world play to match the scene but glad it wasn't Los Tigers Del Norte :p.. The hawk was back at it this morning but the kill didn't happen near me.

Steve, what are the bigger hawks called that look almost the same but easy a foot tall. my dad called them in Spanish... Gavilan
 
Sparrow hawks are smaller (Kestrel).....Red shouldered, Red tail, and even Prairie falcons all frequent the IV.....Could be a Marsh hawk (Northern harrier) as well and my guess.
