My bad. I was responding to your question about the teeth and lower jaw. Nope, he did not keep the teeth or the lower jaw. I don’t know the age. I’m curious what you guys think because he’s only a 3x3, but his antlers are fairly thick and he has that kicker on the right antler. I was curious if he was a young deer or an older one that has regressed. But, there are also bucks that stay a 3x3 their whole life.OK.....So you know the age?.....Sonora?.....6
ps...I saw some animals on a deer ranch that you wouldn't believe were 2 & 3 year olds.
Sonora, MexicoBeautiful buck no doubt! Sonora, Mexico? Sonora,CA?
Really there's no way to definitively know the age of bucks unless they are tooth aged. Anything else is just a guess. Us as hunters can sometimes get in the ballpark by looking the animal over, having knowledge of where they came from and having environmental and known area genetics. But, the reality is, it's still just a guess. I've been shocked a number of times on some tooth aged bucks I've seen.
