Anyone scouted the high desert recently? I'm planning heading out this weekend to see what's out there. Hoping to avoid the crowds in Imperial County.

What parts of high desert? I don't know that you'll find much if you're referring to Jacumba/ Boulevard area.

I was in boulevard/jacumba this evening and it is drier than a popcorn fart!!!! No quail or dove or anything for that matter, except jack rabbits, they were plentiful as the sun was setting.
The IV is big enough for everyone, just hit it

I'm definitely going to hit the IV the next weekend after the opener and the later season. I was going to scout the area while down there on a business trip but that got cancelled.

I was looking towards Lucerne and Johnson Valley area; I haven't been there in a while and wanted to find somewhere different for opening day. I figure I could scout for quail at the same time. I could always go to Mojave or Barstow.
