Someone explain to me how in the hell this isn't deemed worthy of our local media? You would think this would be pretty significant news. I'm assuming this comes at a time with Trump and his border policies that it simply doesn't fit our "News'" narrative. How ridiculous.
You hit the nail on the head. Main stream Media is against anything Trump does, so good news ( to conservatives) they won't show but let him go against their narrative and it will be on every station and news outlet. I think I'll tune into the view this morning just to watch their head explode Fake news.

Who said they were cartel members? Every article there is mentions the robbers were Spanish speakers, armed and that they shot and stole the hikers cell phones and back pack. The articles headlines say they were "suspected cartel members". Do you know that for a fact? No. Do the hikers know ? No, does the border patrol know ? No..
Why would a cartel member in the US risk to get caught for taking a back pack and a cell phone? ...why?. I travel to deep areas of baja and let me tell you..even down there the cartel guys keep a low profile unless they are after the competition.
I don't buy it. It just fits the narrative they want you to buy.
You do know there are spanish speaker Americans thieves in the US right?
The problem is that nowdays a Spanish speaker can not be nothing but a cartel or illegal alien...unreal.

My wife is Spanish speaking. I “suspect” that she is not a cartel member but don’t know that to be a “fact.” She could be sneaking around and working for El Chapo part-time.

So the Border Patrol is putting out fake cartel shooting stories. Hmmm, ok. Possible, seems a bit of a stretch. If close to half of USBP are Hispanic and a good portion of them are native Spanish speaking, then they are throwing fellow Spanish speakers under the bus.

Maybe the Texas Department of Public Safety is in on fabricated cartel shooting stories as well. Anything is possible.

That said, had a great chukar outing Friday!! Can’t wait for next season.

You posted about the Jacumba incident and that is what I replied to.

These links are related to Fronton Island. What I know about Fronton island is that it was Mexican Land and it was "taken"by Texas in 23 because it was a hot area for trafficking. Imagine that, TAKEN! from the Mexicans by Texas... you bet your ass the Mexicans are going to shoot the patrols. Wouldn't you? Most Americans would shoot if their land was taken.

I am not arguing there is no cartel activity in the US. By the way who do you think the cartel buys a lot of their guns from? Yup the USA.
I still believe the cartel and the Mexican bad hombres story is being used as part of the scary tactic. Americans growing weed illegally in the wilderness where we hunt concerns more.
If you see your wife buying expensive stuff you can't afford I would be concerned...:joy: I am joking.

Could be cartel members, could be terrorist, could be human traffickers, could be porn distributors, could be auto theft ring, could be the border patrol thinks they may have been cartel members. I'll go with that.
