Lake Hodges's buck

Everyday I drive over the bridge, I check the east side to see how far the water has dropped. Today their was a nice little velvet forky getting his lunch break drink! Wish I coulda snapped a picture

I drive over that bridge too and always look at the water level (just a glance). But have never seen any deer. Pretty cool to see that buck.

Lots of deer around Lake Hodges....A couple of the nicest bucks I've ever seen in SD have been around Lake Hodges & Black Mt.....There was a great buck that used to bed right above Black Mt. Rd....It was county land too....It was our old dove spot back in the day....Code name was Red Ball. Stood for Rancho Bernardo....Still a lot of deer & dove there....

Red ball....Circa 1996....Pretty sure this spot is a school now......
