leupold vx2 3-9x40?

so i need to set up a scope for my 300 win mag, i have a leupold 3-9x40 vx2, would that be too small for it? what u guys think? im use to putting 4-12x40 and larger scopes on this rifle, but i gave it to my father, and this vx2 is a spare that i had put away, but i cant afford to buy another scope. any feedback is appreciated, thanks guys! 8)

That's what I have on my 7mm. Guess its personal preference, I just use 5 zoom most the time so I didn't see any point in spending more money on something I wouldn't need to...

thats a nice scope, I would try practicing with it, until you can get you want later.

I had this same question early last year. I went ahead and mounted the VX2 on my 300 and have been very pleased with it. I say go ahead and mount it.
