Loading some Elk Death

Days away from the elk hunt. Loading up the ammo to feed the death wand. Working with the following:

Sako 85 Rifle

300 WSM

168 Grain Nosler E-Tips bullets (.503 BC)

Federal Brass

Federal 215M Match Primers

Hercules Reloader 19 Powder

Will post data as it comes available. Brass is almost prepped and ready for primers.

Tomorrow morning...Will hopefully prime the brass tonight and then drop powder and stuff cases early morning. Then of to the test bed. Finalize load and mass produce. Then back to the rang for the "3 high at 100 sight in.

Cases prepped, primed, powder dispensed and bullets stuffed. A little behind schedule but hope to test tonight or tomorrow.

Settled on an OAL of 2.900 for now.

Unfortunately 64.5 grains of RL19 (which was my starting load) created a stiff bolt so I had to scrap the science project until I get back from elk slaying. I will be using my standby load of 168 gr Barnes TTSX's chugging along at 3050 FPS.

Worked on the last 6 elk... 8)
