So I was looking for a place to take my kids to ride their bikes and get outta the house for a bit on Saturday. Looked up lake Miramar as I have never been there and heard good things about it. I checked out the website and it has spots for turkey and waterfowl hunting. I was surprised at this. I’ve never heard anything about hunting here. Have any of you ever been here to hunt? Is it worth trying to reserve a blind?

I grew up down the street from Miramar Lake and I would certainly NOT go shooting there unless you want a dozen black and whites rolling on you fast lol. You may be thinking of another lake. Barrett has a waterfowl program, as does Henshaw. Cuyamaca used to as well, but not sure if that's still going on. Miramar's a good spot for taking the kids to feed geese, running (you can run the full 5 mile perimeter), and some mediocre fishing.

I got the information from the lake Miramar website. Like I said, I’ve never been there so I don’t know what the surroundings are like, but I thought shooting around Miramar didn’t sound like a great idea. I was really surprised to see that info on there

Yup, you navigated away from the Miramar page on the website. I did not see anything on the Miramar specific page that mentioned hunting, but the City of San Diego website does. That is because they do allow hunting at other lakes, i.e. Barrett.

At the bottom of the page there is a section that says, "Lakes and Recreation". If you click that it takes you here.

This page is not limited to Miramar.
