Hi everyone in Nevada or any that have gone chukar or quail hunting in the state. I'm heading up to Pyramid Lake to go fish and I had the bright idea to bring the shotgun with me to go shoot on BLM in the afternoon if I can find some birds. I'll only be there 3 full days so maybe 1-2 afternoon hunts if I'm lucky! I post not to ask for a spot but more of how has the hatch been this year? Is there some type of rockpile or hill type or something I should head for when I start hunting that holds well in this area? I have OnX hunt to try and hit the guzzlers but does anyone have any warnings or advice for that area? Lastly should I be worried about keeping my shotgun locked up in my truck while fishing at the lake? Any advice for the area would be greatly appreciated because this is kinda a once in a lifetime trip so I'm making the most out of it even though I went to college in Susanville and never came to Pyramid. Thanks
