New Brass Prep

Do it at 300 yards, it will open up the vertical more and show you the node.

with out seeing what you are doing its hard to say. Have someone video you shooting. Watch how the gun moves is it the same every time?

Jake,

Or you could just buy a box of Federal Premium Trophy Copper from Fine Firearms... :joy:

Only if it was that easy! I chose to buy a cartridge that does not have any current non-lead factory ammo options (Noser and Barnes plan to release some "soon"). Plus this gives me more incentive to get behind the gun and practice shooting as well as making my own ammo.

Reloading also opens up my options to what guns I can buy / build! Besides I needed a "stay at home" hobby or I would go crazy.

So I wanted to tune my 127 gr LRX along with doing a ladder test in the heat to see how much temperature impact RL26.

Ladder Test using RL26 ~100 degree weather
6.5 PRC - Christensen Arms Mesa - 24"
127 LRX
RL26
ADG (once fired)
Federal 210M
Seated .050” off lands

57.0 - 3233
57.2 - 3238
57.4 - 3270
57.6 - Not Read
57.8 - 3291
58.0 - Not Read
58.2 - 3331 (slight ejector mark)
58.4 - 3323 (slightly more ejector mark)

Ladder Test using CFE223 ~100 degree weather
308 WIN - Tikka T3x 22.4"
153 gr HH
CFE223
Lapua
Federal 210M
Seated .100” off lands (mag limit)

49.0 - 2891
49.2 - 2908
49.4 - Not Read
49.6 - 2909
49.8 - 2931
50.0 - 2927
50.2 - 2925
50.4 - 2937
50.6 - 2947
50.8 - 2974
51.1 - 2984

Never hit pressure.

One thing that I appreciated out of this test is that it aligned up very well with the hogden reloading data for the 150 gr E-Tip.

Here are the first 6 shots of the 127 LRX ladder (shots 1 and 2 are in the highlighter)
