hey there all. Its been a while since i have been hunting since i usually go with family in Missouri. But since i live in San Diego i would like to try it out here. I was looking for some places in east county to duck hunt and haven't found any specifics. Since none of my friends hunt i am having trouble finding info and places. I already have a hunting license but any help is appreciated. thanks

welcome to site RG619

There really is no duck hunting close by you in SD. The largest refuge you can go to is Wister near Niland CA.

san jacinto is just north of SD and can be very good at times

Spend some time on the DFG website looking at the refuges through out the state and have fun. :)

No one will help you with public land spots. They are like gold, wait scratch that they are worth 10x gold. nature of the beast when you are in the desert.

The City of San Diego also has a drawing for hunts on Barrett Lake in the east county. Does not cost anything to enter the drawing, just have to wait and see if you get pulled. Later in the season, you can buy hunt days at the lake even though you were not drawn...
