Hey my names Iain, my friend took me rabbit hunting a year ago and I’ve been obsessed since then. My biggest goal is to get a turkey this year! I’ve gone the last two days but was wondering if I could get some advice. I don’t want to get in anyone’s way so I’ve been going to spots not as good as the ones I scouted since there’s people at all those. Should I walk around just looking and calling or if I’m at a spot I’ve seen sign should I just sit down and call and wait? Again I’m totally new to this so don’t really know what I’m doing. Any advice is appreciated! Thank you!

Welcome!

If there are people there there are turkeys there. Its frustrating but learning how to hunt in and around others is part of the game. I'd go right back to where you found them and try to hunt mid week or later on in the day if you want to avoid the crowds. It'll keep getting less crowded as season progresses.

Also, get plugged into the local NWTF chapter. If you are in SD we have meetings the 3rd Monday of every month in Poway.
