Hey all, I'm a flooring contractor in San Diego. Just got my hunting license a few months (just in time to miss the season) cant wait to get out and do some scouting. When I was ten years old I killed a rabbit with a slingshot. My dad showed me how to skin it and cook it (although I remember it was like eating a baseball mitt lol). Anyhow, I never lost the itch and I'm finally getting serious about it at 34. I'm excited to meet other hunters and hear their stories, tricks, etc. Thanks for inviting me Breacher!

Very cool!! I am 34 has well got my first hunting license a few months back. I have only just recently gone hunting for rabbits with no success yet. What type of game are you wanting to hunt? Ever considered archery hunting? I am personally strictly a longbow hunter.
What part of San Diego are you from? do you have any friends that hunt, or family?

Jeremy

Thanks all. Whiskey Ninja: When a person gets very intoxicated, usually off whiskey, without anyone else noticing. Jeremy I am an amateur at best with a recurve. I've thought about getting a lefty compound, as I've heard the best hunting here is to be had with a bow? I'm sure I'd pick it up pretty quick. I make my own hand carved crossbows and would love to bag a deer with one someday lol. I'm going to try for a turkey this spring and a bear this summer up in Siskiyou. Strictly longbow huh? That's really cool! What do you hunt?

So far I have gone hunting for rabbits. Jack rabbits are open all year! Going after small game till I get some experience and then move up from there. I have been researching as much as I can on turkey this spring.

Um, you need to post some pictures of your hand carved crossbows....

The dragon took about a week. The other is a repeater, which makes it less accurate. They both have about 50-60 pound draws. I can hit a phone book at about 40 yards with either one. But I'm hoping to increase those numbers with a recurve stave and better sights. Also I'm trying to make a horn bow with limited success lol. They require a lot of skill...
